Dr Chelliah Sekar,
General Practitioner

Dr Rasheed has more than 20 years of experience as a doctor. He completed his primary medical education in India, worked in the Middle East and then moved to Cairns, Australia in 2011. He completed his FRACGP in 2015 and recently moved to Brisbane to work here full time GP. He is interested in children's health, psychiatry and Aboriginal health. He loves both dogs and cats and he is learning to fly the Cessna 172!
Dr Sekar has been a GP for more than 30 years and more than 15 years in Australia. He completed his primary medical education in India and after working there for a few years moved to New Zealand and then subsequently to Australia.

Dr Dilruni has practised medicine in Australia for more than 20 years, beginning in Sydney in 2004. Following the completion of her Fellowship, she served as a medical examiner for the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners over a period of 8 years. She remains dedicated to upholding the rigorous high standards of care expected of examiners.
Since moving to Brisbane Dr Dilruni has enjoyed providing the best possible medical and preventative care to the community. She is committed to listening to patient concerns and providing care that is tailored to each patient’s circumstances. While she enjoys all aspects of General Practice, Dr Dilruni has a keen interest in women’s health and children’s health, extending into cervical screening and contraception. She also has an interest in chronic disease management, such as Asthma, Diabetes and Hypertension. Make her your regular GP today.
Dr Kavitha is a well liked GP. She has been a GP for over 10 years now. Like most primary care physicians, she is experienced in the treatment and management of various chronic medical conditions. She enjoys all aspects of family medicine and loves getting to know each of her patients. Dr Kavitha has a special interest in Women's and children's health. She completed her primary medical qualification in 2003. She did her internship at the Mount Gambier Hospital in SA and has worked at Queen Elizabeth Hospital in SA, and Monash Medical Centre, VIC before moving to Darwin in 2010. She obtained her Fellowship in General Practice in 2013. She has family in Brisbane and she moved to Brisbane in 2020 to be closer to her family.
She has gained clinical acumen in Internal Medicine, Emergency medicine, Surgery, Mental Health, Obstetrics & Gynaecology as well as Paediatrics. She is also committed to educating medical students and GP Reigstrars.

Dr Wasim Shaikh is a dedicated and accomplished psychiatrist based in Brisbane, Queensland. With over a decade of experience in the field, Dr Shaikh has established himself as a highly respected professional within the medical community.
Dr Shaikh's primary practicing suburb is Hamilton, where he provides exceptional psychiatric care to his patients. His expertise in the diagnosis, treatment, and management of various mental health conditions has made him an invaluable asset for individuals seeking mental well-being.
In addition to English, Dr Shaikh also speaks Hindi and Urdu, enabling him to effectively communicate and connect with patients from diverse cultural backgrounds. This linguistic versatility allows him to establish trusting relationships, ensuring that patients feel comfortable discussing their mental health concerns.

Vanessa Elliott (ABN 39 695 884 236) is a registered psychologist with extensive experience across clinical, corporate and health settings. She graduated with a Bachelor of Psychology with Honours from the Griffith University initially specialising in forensic psychology, before moving into organisational and clinical fields. Since that time, she has worked consecutively in corporate and clinical environments. As a result, she has developed a wealth of experience and knowledge of the interplay of the many factors that impact client’s mental health at work and in their personal lives to get to core of any presenting issues.

She is passionate about understanding what motivates and shapes people across all levels and how this ultimately impacts mental health, and individual and business performance. Vanessa founded her company iFlexis in 2012, offering both clinical and corporate solutions to individuals and companies to help clients thrive both personally and professionally. She is a skilled clinician, executive coach, and facilitator and trainer with 25 years’ experience in the field.

Vanessa has a deep appreciation for the challenges people face and builds authentic and compassionate connections with her clients to best serve their needs and desired treatment outcomes. She is passionate about helping people to make meaningful and lasting change to their lives, and mental and physical health. She works collaboratively and flexibly with clients to ensure they feel comfortable in counselling. She is committed to supporting clients in each step of the journey to overcoming the mental barriers that hold them back and make sustainable changes in all areas of their lives for a better quality of life.
Vanessa’s highest priority is providing evidence based, ethical practice to ensure the best possible outcomes for all clients. She has extensive training and experience in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Solutions Focussed Therapy, Interpersonal Therapy, EMDR, and neuroscience. She does not believe in one solution for all clients. She operates from a variety of clinical frameworks as determined by clients’ specific needs and challenges. She adjusts her approach to ensure each client’s goals are met in counselling.
Vanessa provides proactive and effective solutions each session to build a toolbox or suite of skills that clients can continue to use long after therapy has ended to help them manage their own mental health and wellbeing. Her practice focusses on helping clients overcome their various challenges and barriers, and to assist clients to commit to taking action between sessions that promotes growth and enriches life.
Vanessa accepts private patients, Mental Health Care plan patients, private health and third party insurance, NDIS, and WorkCover.

Clinical Hypnotherapist Marie Benton, originally from the UK, travelled extensively before settling in Brisbane in 2004. She has pursued academic qualifications in clinical hypnotherapy, psychotherapy, and counselling at various institutions worldwide, developing a unique approach to helping individuals from diverse backgrounds achieve lasting transformations.
Marie recognises the uniqueness of each person she works with, creating a trusting and supportive environment that allows clients to comfortably navigate and overcome personal challenges, fostering rapid personal growth and self-empowerment.
